Finally my turn!!! baby came on his due date! FTM!!
So on Saturday night 2/8/2020 I decided to have some hot wings and some spicy ramen noodles. Literally right after eating those two thing I had spent the entire night getting minor contractions. I was already 40 weeks pregnant and I was so over it lol. Any ways contractions started to progress throughout the night. At 6:00 AM they started to get a bit stronger. I decided to text my mom and let her know I was having contractions. She asked me if I had the urge to push but i told her no just pain.
Juan is my stepdad and he works as a lieutenant for the FDNY. My mom told me to call him in order for him to provide me with an ambulance and take me straight to L&D. At first I didnt want to text him lol i was stuck between just taking an uber or riding the ambulance which to me felt extra lol but once those contractions began to intensify i couldnt hold out any longer so I called my stepdad and he was able to show up to my house in 5 minutes with like 7 extra paramedics lol it felt soooo extra but i did appreciate all of his help. I was put on a stretcher and there my contractions were coming every 3 minutes. My poor fiancé was so nervous but he kept his composure. By the time i got to the hospital they determined that I was 4 cm. My mom made it to the hospital. And I was quickly rushed to my room at L&D because my contractions were coming so close together everyone knew i would be giving birth in less than 8 hours. By the time i got to my room my contractions were getting so bad, i literally felt like I was not getting a break in between each contraction. I finally asked for the epidural which was lovely!! I felt like myself again lol. I got checked again about an hour after the epidural and the doctor finally broke my water and i was at 6cm. The next hour I was at 7cm. And in an hour and a half I jumped to 9 cm. At this point babys head was definitely low. I felt a lot of pressure around my rectum. Nurse came in and I asked if I can be checked again. The nurse got the doctor, and checked me I was at a full 10!!. I pushed for 45 mins, my son was born on his due date 2/9/2020 at 4:46 PM weighing 7lbs and 10.6 oz. 20 inches long. The second he was born he pooped all over me lol twice!!!.
After delivering my son I had some complications. I developed preeclampsia and had some bleeding, Doctor’s stitched me inside of my vagina, they informed me that I did not tear outside of my vagina if not inside. They stitched me up in what felt like an hour. And stuffed my vagina with gauze because i was bleeding continuously. Then doctors stated the will observe me for an hour and see if the bleeding had slowed down, an hour passes by and about 15 doctors and nurses come rushing into my room, removing all of the gauze and determine that my uterus was no returning back to its normal size. My doctor literally stuffed her hands inside of my vagina all the way into my uterus to remove any blood clots and while doing all of that they were pushing down on my stomach. It was so painful. I would rather push two more babies than going through that again. Finally doctors were able to control my bleeding and put me on Magnesium for 24 hours, i was also placed in the recovery room for 24 hours. But i am grateful for those doctors they literally saved my life. I cried so hard because i was so scared. But thanks to them I am a to be with my son.
We are healthy and at home.
My baby boy Ian Martinez 🥰😍
