Should I ask him? I've been friends with benefits with this guy for about a year now. We don't have feelings for each other but I do consider him a friend.

I was supposed to see him tomorrow, but then a friend told me today that she went to a party and a girl claimed that they have been dating for about 2 months now. He wasn't at the party.

I don't know anything about this and my friend told me not to ask him because then he will know that I heard it from her. But I did ask him if he was seeing anyone and he said no. I want to push further asking why a girl claimed that they've been dating but I promised my friend I wouldn't ask him.

I don't mind him dating anyone, I just don't want to have sex with someone who is taken. Should I ask him anyway or just not see him at all?
