Anyone else’s baby not talking much?

He babbles and says Bubba ( we have a 4yr old) and he’ll say bye bye.. but other than that he says nothing consistently. We’ll get a mama or a dada every once in awhile but I’m not sure he’s even meaning to say it. I’m worried he’s behind is speech. He’s put all his energy into moving as he’s been walking since 9m🤦‍♀️ anyone else’s baby not doing much talking yet?

Mine literally just babbles dada and that’s it- she occasionally will say baba and other random syllables but no words yet- she has an older sister so we are always talking nonstop . I’m not worried yet it’ll happen

Some babies develop quick physically and the cognitive comes a little later, or the other way around. My son was babbling and all the other cognitives earlier, and the physical developments were a little later. If your pediatrician isn’t concerned it should be ok. At least he is making some consonant sounds.

I feel the same way about my daughter. She babbles and screeches but rarely words. Lots of mama dada yaya puhpuh nahnah.... but not sure what it all means. I'm constantly worrying about it... especially since I work with students with autism. I'm terrified of that speech part

I think it’s so neat how they focus on one thing at a time! My son talks all the time and has quite a few words that he says appropriately but won’t walk yet. I guess they all even out eventually!

Nope, my baby isn’t saying almost anything consistently. She says mama (sometimes) and dada (sometimes), baba (but not meaning her bottle....just babbling). We talk constantly and she’s in daycare so I know they’re talking to her also. I’m not worried at all!
