keeping a child from their father ?

Generally and hypothetically speaking at what point do you think you should keep a child from their father?

If a parent is abusive, neglectful, or otherwise a danger to their child, they should not be allowed access to that child. Otherwise a child should not be kept from their parent.

My ex and the father of my child is extremely abusive, I tried to make co parenting work. But it failed after 2 weeks. 
Screamed at me infront of my son, he stopped feeding him and would plop him on the bed and leave because I was talking to other men. When my newborn was cluster feeding, he was trying to have sex with me 2w pp after emergency c section, I I him stop grabbing me stop moving me I'm trying to feed my son, and he wouldn't let go of me..he was and is CRAZY. 
He is not on the birth certificate and I personally DONT and WONT allow him to me around MY son who I've been talking care of for 10m now and financially providing for.  (I'm not filing for child support because I dont want the courts to do supervised visitation without me or at all) 
I hate when people tell me " well it is his baby he is entitled to see him" WRONG WRONG WRONG , nah he is a POS abusive,  manipulative, controlling, narcissistic, women beater, cheater . Everything 
He told me I should hit and spank my son if he did something wrong, he told me to NEVER feed him eggs because eggs are bad, he told me he would get mad at me if I cut my sons hair before a year old because "he won't talk", so many things..
My son and I dont need that in OUR lives. We are better off without abusive people. 1000%

I think if the parent is a threat to the child in any way (emotionally, physically, etc). Anything that can hurt there well-being, I would say that it’s better to keep them away. We want our children to grow up in a stable environment. Yes things will come up in life that will hurt them here and there but a parent shouldn’t be the one hurting them we should be the ones to keep them feeling safe, the ones they come to when they are hurt or need help.
