When did you start sleeping again??

Give me some hope! I know everyone is different and every baby is different, but let me hear about your “light at the end of the tunnel” moment! When did you start being able to get some actual sleep, figure out when you were able to find time to work out, have an actual romantic dinner with your husband, anything! As happy as I am, I’m just exhausted and my little one needs me every moment of my day😩

Mine is almost 14 months and still wakes up a couple times per night. We still nurse when she wakes up because she can’t tell me if she’s hungry/thirsty and I don’t believe in letting a baby cry-it-out 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m sure I could have trained her to sleep through... but I follow responsive parenting. My husband and I are going out without her for the first time next weekend. We live in a different state than our families so we had to wait for someone that we trust to visit (his mom). 
That being said, we don’t feel like we’re missing out on anything. It’s different, for sure, but we include her in everything. We still go out to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we still travel. We’re going to Costa Rica next month and it’ll be her 4th country 🥰 
I’d like to say things get easier as they get older, but each age presents its own challenges. I found that reshaping my expectations has helped more than anything.

Our LO started sleeping 4-6 hour stretches at night around 8 weeks. She is one now and finally sleeping 10-12 hours a night consistently (for the most part). She has never been a good napper so finding time to workout is still  a struggle. My husband and I went to dinner alone 3 times during the first year. We didn't live near family so we could only go out when my parents were visiting (we don't trust anyone else).

Around the 4 month mark he started sleeping 12 hour stretches occasionally which felt like a dream. At 6 months it was consistent and we didn’t do any sleep training or weaning, he just naturally stopped waking throughout the night. We’ve had some set backs, especially after traveling but we’ve left him to be put to bed by grand parents and friends a few times, all was well. Things do get easier

6 months... we’ve had bad days/weeks of course but after she was 6 months I was getting pretty consistent sleep and felt human most days

Both my kids started sleeping for 6 hours straight at night at 2 months old. I got pretty lucky. They started sleeping 12 hours at night by 3 -4 months. 
It will happen, like you said every kid is different. I found playing lullabies on YouTube on my tv or even my phone helped them settle down. Helped me sleep as well ( LOL). They have some good 8 hour loop ones on YouTube.

My son started sleeping long stretches around 8 weeks... he had his first sleepover at about 8 weeks old so my husband and I could have a date night and a good night sleep. We have regular nights out as a couple and have gone on quite a few vacations.  He was sleeping from 7pm-7am from about 4months.
