Infant car seats vs 4 in 1 seats -- Which do you recommend?

Infant vs 4 in 1 seats. Is it worth having an infant only then later getting a different one?

It really depends on your preference. I’m starting with an infant carrier seat because it’s easier to run in and out of places like restaurants and grocery shopping and what not have to hold baby the whole time. You can start with a rear to forward facing convertible car seat if that’s your preference. My stroller came with a car seat

This is the carseat we got for my son I was dead set on using it right away but my mother wouldn't listen and bought us an infant seat. I used the infant seat for 6 weeks just to have somewhere to put him for my postpartum appointment. During the appointment a nurse came in and rocked him so I didnt even need it then. I like having my baby in a baby carrier so I didnt find the infant seat to be necessary.

We’re going to get both/ ask for both at our shower...why? Because it’s much easier to be able to take an infant in and out of a seat that can be brought inside VS having to carry them outside to strap them in. Also doubles as a “seat” for outings the first few months too. We are also having a stroller it can attach to. Once it outgrows the infant seat, we will put in this one. Slim for the sole purpose of having multiple kids and fitting all car seats.

We bought this travel system and I couldn’t stress enough how useful it is to have an infant car seat in the beginning. This one is so simple my hubby or I can literally get the stroller open one-handed, and if my son falls asleep in the car or stroller we don’t have to immediately wake him up taking him out of the seat. It’s easier to get them out after removing the seat from the car when they are itty bitty rather than struggling to get them out of the back seat. We have the Grace 4 in 1 for when he outgrows the infant seat but I plan to use it for his first year at least if he doesn’t outgrow it. :) we love it and I’ve recommended the same travel system to friends that are pregnant!
