She’s here!

My first birth was pretty quick so I assumed this birth would be equally as quick. However, nothing could have prepared me for this!

I woke up Feb 14 having contractions on and off. I figured it was happening so I let hubby sleep and just bounced on my yoga ball. They became more irregular as the day went on so figured nothing of it. Took a nap and woke up around 4. Starting contracting pretty hard around 5. Called the doc and went in around 8:30.

I was only 1.5cm so they said I could stay or go. I stayed and walked for an hour. Only 2cm now. I was adamant about having contractions that were real and painful so I asked to stay. Got in the tub and contractions got worse. No change in cervix still.

Got out of the bath and in bed so they could track baby and the contractions were so bad I could barely breathe through them. I told my husband I wanted the epidural because if I wasn’t dilating I couldn’t do this anymore. Then before he could get the nurse I felt my body pushing. Nurse comes in and checks me and screams for the doctor. She was literally holding the baby in. No time for the epidural and I was so scared. My body kept pushing baby out without me even trying. Nurses came rushing in and the doctor never made it. Went from 2cm to giving birth in 40 minutes.

I tore pretty bad and had a hemorrhage because my body didn’t even know what happened. The most intense experience of my life but I feel like a freaking warrior.

Our sweet Allison was born at 1:40 weighing 7lb 2oz 🥰
