Childbirth classes:: when should you go?

Currently 26 weeks, first baby.. when is it best to sign up for a childbirth class? They are offered through the hospital where we plan to deliver, but don’t want to go too early or wait too late 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

With our first baby we started at about 27 or 28 weeks. It was a 6 week class though. I was glad we did it sooner than later because some women weren't able to complete the class due to having their babies early.

I don't think it's like in the movies. I always thought it would be this multi part class where you'd go for an hour or two a week for a month or so and you'd practice Lamaze or whatever. All the classes I've seen are one time and very short. I might do one, but we can't sign up for them because they aren't offering them until the flu outbreak dies down.

We went at 20 weeks with our first and it was really informative! We aren’t going this time around but I think really anytime is fine 🤷🏼‍♀️

We just went yesterday and I'm 27 weeks. I didn't want to go too far into the 3rd trimester because I was afraid I would be exhausted throughout the class. Many people there were around the same time frame as me!

I’m doing mine at 30! I don’t think there’s a right time but I think anytime in late 2nd or early 3rd is appropriate to invest your time and $ into

In 29 weeks today and signed up for a breast feeding class later this week.  I don't think it's ever too early.  I haven't signed up for the birthing one yet, they were all full but I intend to.

We started our class at 26 weeks- it was an evening class that went 2hrs a week for 6 weeks! We started early because if we took the next session it would have gone right through our due date! Other classes we took (breastfeeding, caring for baby, etc) were one day workshops and we did them between 32 and 36.
