purple shampoo

Hi ladies! just wondering if anyone left purple shampoo in over night with intentions of getting the lilac tones? i wanna give it a go just to see what it looks like, but i have a question which i can’t find the answer to on google, i recently had my hair highlighted so i was wondering if it would ruin the highlights underneath after i’ve washed the lilac out? if anyone has any pictures/advice aswell that’d be great!
