Anyone do a hysteroscopy before IVF? Was it successful??

Did doing this procedure help??  My doctor is suggesting it after chemical last round. Any insight is helpful

I had one to investigate for things like polyps, septum, fibroids. It gave me peace of mind heading into IVF that my uterus was fine & I wasn't wasting precious embryos for a simple structural issue that could've been resolved and might prevent implantation. I only ended up having 1 small polyp that was removed.

I had a hysteroscopy prior to a frozen transfer. They found multiple polyps and adhesions not seen on the saline sonogram. Our RE said this was likely the reason we were not getting pregnant. Did our transfer and currently am pregnant :)

I’ve had two hysteroscopies with biopsies.  I had my first prior to my first transfer, second after my third transfer and subsequent D&E.  I’d say it’s helpful, in that they can check to identify any issues that may contribute to difficulties staying pregnant.  Both of my tests came back normal - but it was still a relief to know that was the case, and that diagnostically we should be looking elsewhere for the root cause of my difficulties. It was part of my work up so yea I did before retrieval to make sure I didn’t have any blocked tubes or anything. It wasn’t successful or unsuccessful it was just to make sure everything was normal in there and it was. I guess it “helped” to let us know that nothing was blocked but I still had to go through IVF.
