Sexting ex?

So my ex boyfriend is generally fairly distant. We were together like 2 years and broke up about a month ago but still text a little just about every day. When he texts it's usually brief replies... Except for when he's horny. Then he goes all out with what he wants to "do to me" and all that. When I tell him that we shouldn't do that anymore because we aren't together, he gets grumpy and says he does it "out of love" and that "it makes him feel closer to me". Should I just play along? I don't want to have him completely out of my life yet.
