Belly tightening?

I’m 28 weeks and from time to time my belly tightens up. No cramps, just starts feeling tight and hard. Anyone know what causes that? Not worried just curious

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. Sometimes can be caused by being dehydrated. If it’s not painful, nothing to worry about

I’ve been having this for a couple of weeks, and was saying that I thought it was the baby pressing and pushing outwards, because it felt like hard pressure across and near my belly button. That’s where she kicks the most, and as it didn’t feel like I was expecting (lower down, like period pains), it just never occurred to me that it might be Braxton Hicks. It was only today that I was looking into Braxton Hicks that I realised it could feel the way I’ve been feeling.

Braxton Hicks.. sometimes they feel like period cramps & sometimes they just feel like pressure. My belly band helps me a lot to deal with it when they get bad.
