Need a new nickname idea?

My name is Allyriane, pronounced uh-LI-ree-en.

One of my massive pet peeves is when people don’t put the effort in to getting my name correctly. I will fight them. I’m named after a lyre, with the pronunciation “leer” in this case, which is a greek stringed instrument. Both my great grandpa and I are competitive pianists.

Anyways, I’m moving to Washington in late June and I’ll be going to a new school. I was thinking of going by a shorter name. Not because I’m sick of people getting it wrong, no. I love my name, it would just be a lot easier to have a name that doesn’t take so long to spell or say. This sounds stupid, but I spell it wrong pretty often, without even realizing. I’m proud of it, but I’m fine with going by something a little more casual.

Originally, my baby nickname was Ally. But I feel that doesn’t really suit me. It’s very loud in my mind, somewhat jarring for someone as monotone as me.

Anne however is very common. Aged. Very sophisticated. Not very me either.

I feel like I’m being too picky given the few combinations of syllables I can pull from this, however I do want a nickname...just one that feels nice. What are your thoughts?
