Anyone let their baby sleep with loose blanket?

My son starts day care at 11months, and they let them have blankets at naps - no sleep sacks. My little guy has only ever used sleep sacks.

I only answered no bc I knew if I tired to lay her down with a blanket it would never stay on her body. She’s a mover. Naps generally no blanket and a sleep sack at night.

My daycare is the opposite; they require a sleep sac and don’t allow a blanket until after 12 months

That's really strange. If a parent wants to let their baby use a blanket then thats ok, but I don't understand why the daycare won't let you bring in a sleep sack for your child. My daughter is going at 12 months and I would probably push back a little if they said I can't bring in a sleep sack for her. I know that at 11 months, most babies are strong enough to be ok sleeping with a blanket but I think my daughter actually likes being all cozy in a sleepsack.

Our daycare uses blankets but only the real thin kind. I guess they use them because the teachers are always in there and can make sure they don’t cover their faces with them

At the daycare I work at, we never use blankets in cribs. It’s a suffocation hazard and illegal— the daycare could lose their license. 
However, at around 9/10 months old they can offer the babies nap mats and they can use a light loose blanket/personal blanket! At 12 months (all the way up til 5 years) they use nap mats!

My nursery uses blankets but I just asked to bring in a sleep sack and they were fine with this and accommodated any requests. Can’t harm to ask maybe? Odd if they wouldn’t let you!! X

He sleeps with it in the crib but he bunches it up like a pillow. Never really has it on his body but he is a hot sleeper.

Just for naps but I get him a stuffed toy at night. If he wakes he reaches for it

I’ve let my daughter sleep with a breathable blanket for months now. Half the time she kicks it off but she loves it for comfort. And I believe by 12 months blankets are technically “safe” anyway
