Car seat?

Question

So we are still rear facing and I'm a bit confused as I think it might need some adjustments...Does this look right? Why is there a gap there? Is that okay? The baby has the same car seat...But he doesn't have that gap. 
Also he looks super hunched.. like his head/neck. Any advice?
Also it is tightened as tight can get. I can't pull that harder where the gap is, it is completely tense and stiff.

If the shoulders are hunched, it might be because the straps don't go high enough in the back of the seat.
Mine has multiple holes and it's pretty difficult to get the straps out and then back in at a higher hole, but last time we had to move it up it was because she was a bit hunched to fit under the straps.
Check if he lies into the seat comfortably, do the straps come from behind his back or just around his shoulders? Ideally they should come out right above his shoulders.

It may be because you still have the infant insert in the seat as well. Try taking the infant insert out from under his bum. Otherwise it looks correct and secure (I’m a police officer)!
