My kiddo just started doing this recently. Whenever I breastfeed my 16 week old son, he will look at me periodically. If I look back at him, he unlatched and either smiles or just stares at me briefly. Then will look away and latch back on like nothing ever happened. During the entire feeding, he will keep checking to see if I am looking at him. If I'm not, he keeps eating. If I am he unlatched and smiles or stares again. This goes on until he gets too tired and starts to fall asleep. It's hilarious, but now I can't watch him eat if I dont want the feeding to last forever because he wants to play.
