Clogged tear duct???

Question

Can someone tell me what this is? How do I fix it? 
Someone told me maybe blocked duct?
Also- breast milk in the eye.....my milk doesnt "shoot" out when squeezed, only if he is drinking or I'm pumping. It drips when expressed and is very difficult, so how would I do this?

Well first use a warm wash cloth on it and help clean it up. Then take your child to the doctor. Dont just squirt milk in their eye.

My baby had a clogged tear duct and I kept it clean with warm wet wash cloth and used new wash cloth each time. You can watch YouTube for videos on how to massage the inside of the nose. I massaged his nose at least twice a day and also put breast milk on my finger and just swiped across his eye and doing all this cleared it up rather quickly.

Has he been seen to rule out infection?  You can use a dropper to put the breastmilk in his eye. I just used a wash cloth with warm sterile and soaked it and kept it clean. If any of the white if his eye is pink or red then he needs to get seen.

He woke up this morning was hardly any cruelties, I wiped them away with a cloth and he looks great. Will keep an eye on things and will be using breast milk as a preventative, as well as massaging the ducts daily

My first took 4m and my second took 6m. It’s from a canal In the eye duct not being fully developed so once it grows with age it clears out and starts functioning properly. Warm cloth wet a few times a day. Steam can also help, with my second I brought him in the steam room at the local pool three days in a row and cleaned out the canal and since it had grow with his age it finally stayed cleared out. It’s actually genetic, I’m 37 w and expect this baby will have it as well.

Yup clogged tear duct. Breastmilk didnt work for my baby but you can try, even from a bottle would work. Clean it off with a warm wet wash cloth and try putting pressure on the inside by the nose and you kight get lucky and have it unclog. Otherwise your baby will need surgery around a year old.

Yes and my son had it since birth and his doctor said if it didn’t resolve on it’s own after 1 yr they would have to do surgery. Thankfully it did resolve at 11 months. 
I tried everything but nothing worked. :(

No. That looks like conjunctivitis. My son had 2 clogged tear ducts that resolved themselves and then he got conjunctivitis at daycare. It looked just like the pic you posted. Dr gave us erythromycin ointment to put along his lash line a few times a day.

My son had a blocked tear duct, it probably took the best part of 9 months to clear fully.  We used to use cooled boiled water or saline solution and cotton wool pads (used a fresh pad for each eye). Used to do this several times a day.
We also pressed down gently under the duct and it would help get the gunk out - our paediatrician showed us how to do it properly.
It can be a bit of a process but it will eventually clear up. If you have any concerns about infection your dr will prescribe antibiotics :)
