Read Expecting Better by Emily Oster. She discusses the research, why diff ppl come to diff concludions, and how to decide what is right for you. No one here will be able to give you a clear cut answer. Good luck! 🙌🙌

No one is ever going to tell you that drinking while pregnant is 100% safe. But studies in countries with less stigma around it have found that babies are fine even if mom drinks one drink per week.

It’s probably more important to take prenatal vitamins and eat healthy and exercise. I have had a few drinks this pregnancy, but I drink very slowly (like... over an hour to finish my drink) and with food. I’ve also drank low abu beers (2.5%)

At the end of the day, it’s up to you. But if you ever feel tipsy than you definitely drank too much.

You should discuss this with your doctor. This is not absolution but if you really are looking for personal experiences, I did have wine with my dinners a few nights a week in my third trimester. Not sure if I will again. I’ll discuss it with my new doctor and review the latest research when the time comes.

I struggle with this too. There is no evidence that a drink here and there will hurt you or the baby. It just doesn’t exist. But of course we know that heavy drinking causes fetal alcohol syndrome which is devastating. So that’s why the doctor’s orders are to completely stop drinking since we don’t know what the threshold might be for “safe” drinking.

So it’s is up to you what you want to do with that info.

I have had a few drinks pregnant. A glass of nice champagne for New Year’s. A glass of red wine with dinner. A light beer with dinner. And that’s it. I drink it slowly with food. But then again sometimes I get anxiety that I did that - so maybe it’s not worth it?

Read Expecting Better! I wrote about it in another comment here, and I think your anxiety will go down when you see what the research says. It’s too muc for me to summarize here bc there is no quick answer, but I recommend you check it out.
