Ostomy Baby

Lena

Last time I posted on here was in January about my daughter being born with a few issues with her esophagus and anus when she was born on the 7th, well we were finally able to leave the NICU on the 20th of January! After her surgeries, my baby girl has been doing so good! Even with her little ostomy! She’ll have it reversed when she’s at least 6 months old! We’re so happy for our little one! On that note, does anybody with an ostomy baby or have one their selves have a preference for a skin barrier wipe?

My friend had an ostomy bag and she used skin tac, which is what I use as well for my insulin pump sites. It’s available generic on amazon and you can also get it through insurance, it’s just a different name :) it’s the only thing that keeps my sites on and keeps me from breaking out due to the adhesive. What a cutie ❤️

She is so beautiful! My favorite skin barrier wipe is cavilon. It’s what I used for mine and my sons NG tubes. Plus I’m a CNA in a hospital and it seems to be the preference for our ostomy patients and team.

One tip you already probably been told but when you change the bag to put a new one on if you’ll lay your hand over the bad for just a bit the warmth from your hand will help the bag to stick better😊

My husband has an ostomy and he uses alcohol free ones (I thought all of them were but I was wrong), he ordered them from amazon as our insurance doesn’t cover them.
