I'm morbidly curious. Our son is "coded" with an "unknown source" with a severe language and speech disorder... So needless to say, communication is hard. And I honestly just was curious how far behind we are on the potty training situation.

He can talk now. He was completely nonverbal until 2.5 years old. But Im at a loss at what else to possibly do for potty training and obviously, he's gonna be 4 in July. We do diapers. And the few times we have tried training, there's just nothing...

He can't tell us prior that he has to go. So I just take him in there like every 15-25 minutes and we have had some success. And he likes to high five and wash his hands afterwards and enjoys the praise. But then, he'll have an accident and come tell me he is wet.

So we change him. I've tried pull ups. I've tried underwear. I haven't got him to poop in the potty once. He doesn't understand incentives. Or a reward system because of communication issues. And I just feel defeated and like I'm failing as a parent.
