How do you decide to move to IVF from IUI?
How do yall make the decision to move on from IUI to IVF? Im 37, hes 40. We have 2 healthy boys 5.5 and 8.5 at home. We are expanding our family with medically assisted pregnancy. We have 2 kids and have had 1 MC 2 chem, and have been unable to stay pregnant since our MC in 2017.
We did 3 months TI. We are on our 2nd IUI, 7dpIUI... If this doesnt take and we do a 3rd, I'll be a month shy of 38 when I deliver and he will be 41. I think I'm ready to move on to IVF but know it's way more involved and expensive. The involved is what gets me. I'm in a fast paced career and our next 2 months is our end of year and I'm in the running for a HUGE award. So is my business partner. So I really need to be focusing until April... but dont want to stop trying but I cant be going to appointments 2 times a week multiple weeks. Im scared of the time commitment for IVF with 2 boys at home, baseball, cub scouts, work...we are ready for a new baby though. I think i start overthinking bc the unknown of IVF freaks me out. How do y'all balance it?
I think the doctor would be willing to move to IVF next of we decide thats what we do. Does it take longer than 2 months to do a cycle? Trying to see what to expect. I have mandatory work trip mid may so we neeed to be cooking before then or we have to wait.
