What Breast Pump did your insurance cover?

Question

The rep I spoke with said the Medela was the most popular. Did anyone upgrade to the carrying bags or did you get your own (if so what kind?)

I can upgrade the Medela to include the carrying bag or tote for $95 or metro Messenger bag for $197.50

The Spectra is a $25 upgrade fee with my insurance there isn't a carrying bag offered

No upgrade for the Lanisnoh

No update for the Ameda

My insurance covered the Spectra and I paid to upgrade to the battery one. I loved it. I tried a Medela while in the hospital and did not like it. The Spectra was far more comfortable.

I got a Medela double electric pump during my baby shower and a Spectra S2 from my insurance using the Aeroflow website. Best website ever to buy your breast pump and they have more options than your insurance is telling you are available. My insurance only told me a few options and I managed to qualify for a Spectra S2 with cooler bag no problem when my insurance never told me I had that option. 
My advice is have multiple pumps to give you options and use all of them at different times. Invest in a manual pump and Haakkaa pump. I mainly use my Haakkaa and manual pump while at home and feeding my LO. I was able to collect over 200 oz in 30 days and I’m not an over supplier.

Spectra S2 Plus Electric Breast Pump Hospital Strength
i have one of the medela handheld batter operated ones and i have a spectra plug in one. my insurance actually covered both. and i like them for different reasons. the plug in one DEFINITELY gets more milk out and has a stronger suction. the battery operated medela has an extremely weak suction and really only worked well for me if it was plugged in which increased suction a little more but also defeats the battery operated purpose. the battery operated medela was nice for me to take to school because it was nice and small. so i guess all in all 1. see if insurance covers two. i went through areoflow.com and they will ask you your insurance and then contact your insurance directly and in a couple days send you a list of pumps that are covered and then they ship it to you so the whole process is very easy. and 2. unless you will be using your pump when you’re out and about then i would definitely recommend a plug in pump.

I got the Spectra with the upgraded bag, was back and forth on the Medela and the Spectra. I haven’t used it yet though baby isn’t due till July so it won’t ship till June
