After 36 hours of active labor, 2 epidural attempts, excessive swelling and lack of food
After 36 hours of active labor, 2 epidural attempts, excessive swelling and lack of food... My beautiful baby girl finally graced us with her presence. Perfect as can be! I delivered via VBAC (it is possible ladies so if you are able, and the risks arent too great for you, it definitely is a COMPLETELY new experience).
Heads up for 1st time moms:
-Epidurals CAN be done on ppl with scoliosis, just depending on the curve of your spine, so get that verified BEFORE you have labor.
-A C SECTION IS GIVING BIRTH JUST LIKE A VAGINAL BIRTH IS GIVING BIRTH. Both are equally important to getting your baby here safe and in certain situations, one is safer than the other. Don't feel discouraged if you have to have a c section and it didn't follow your plans. Plans change for a reason, so be prepared for that.
- Vaginal birth isn't hard. I know it seems so difficult but I got an epidural and pushed and it didn't hurt. It's a ball of pressure in a spot you feel coming ahead of time. Like gas is sitting in a REALLY weird spot. When you push, it just feels like a large poop is hanging in a weird place and you want it out. BAD. That's it. No pain, you just can't breathe cos your knees are in your chest. But that's WITH AN EPIDURAL. An epidural can be your friend if you take the proper steps to be educated on it and not just fear it.
-TAKE YOUR PRENATALS!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY! dont stop, dont forget. Take two of you dont remember.
It is the difference from going home and healing on time and staying extra days from missing minerals and vitamins and hormone changes.
