1st birthday cake recipes?

I want to make a cake that's not too sugary for LO, but still enjoyable for the adults and bigger kids. Has anyone found a good recipe?

We're making a baby cake with apple puree in between banana pancakes. And then a sugary cake for the adults 😂

I just plan in taking off most of the frosting for baby’s piece.

I plan on using this recipe, they put sugar as optional so I won’t use the sugar! :)
