Long Post but I need some opinions please

As a young teenager I was diagnosed with PCOS after several months of heavy bleeding. They prescribed me birth control pills, which I took, to stop the bleeding and regulate my cycle. I am not a fan of being on the pill. I had problems with loss of sex drive, terrible mood swings, depression, loss of appetite so I stopped taking them after 2 years. I've been very fortunate in that my cycle has remand regular on its on. I've had no problems regarding my cycle up until the last 3 or 4 months. I've been getting horrible cramps and vomiting the week before. And then now for about 7 weeks now I've had a horrible pain in my right side low down by my pelvic region. I finally went in to see a doctor where they confirmed it was a cyst on my right ovary. I've been referred to a specialist and they are doing more testing this week to see the exact size and if it is bleeding or looks to be causing any major problems to my surrounding organs. And I am ok with all of the testing I want and need to know what it is making me so sick BUT so far the only medication that has been brought up as a form of treatment is BC pills. And I refuse to get back on them. I understand the pros of being on it for women with my condition but I am at a point in my life where my partner and I aren't trying to concieve but we aren't doing much to prevent it either. And I am just needing someone out there to tell me that there are other treatments available that won't interfere with my fertility.

I know this is a long post and thank you to anyone who takes the time to read it but I feel so alone and scared and I just really want to know that I'm not alone.

I'm 23 now and I will not let this disease control me.
