When did you announce to your families?

I don’t want to announce until month 3 or 4 as this is our first and a dread if we had to announce miscarriage. My husbands all bent out of shape because he wants to tell his parents right now(4W +2 only predicted from a google calendar due date, I haven’t been seen my a doctor yet). while I want to tell my family too, I think it’s too early. I just got my HCG confirmed 3 days ago. He’s all upset I want to wait. We do not see eye to eye on this. Suggestions ?

21 weeks. I didn’t really “announce” though. I told my mom, one of my sisters, my MIL, my husbands grandfather, and my SIL individually. The rest I just let hear through word of mouth or when they saw me and I was visibly pregnant. I had told my other sister, my grandma and my 3 best friends pretty much right away.

I told my parents the minute after I told my husband. We did IVF so everyone was expecting it. It’s your choice when you tell. I wouldn’t have been able to wait 3-4 months to tell just my immediate family.

I was like you and didn't want to tell anyone till the first scan (12 weeks, here in UK) in case something went wrong. But we talked about and he felt that  it would be good to have others to support us if the worse did happen, which I do agree with now. So we told both sets of parents at about 5 weeks, and our closed friends (3 total) between  6 and 10 weeks. Everyone else was at 12+

We didn’t tell our parents or siblings until after we saw the heartbeat at our first ultrasound (around 7 weeks).

I did the same day I found out. But I'm garbage at knowing when I'm pregnant apparently because it was 6 weeks for my first baby, 8 weeks for my second, and 9 weeks for my third. 
I've also been fortunate enough to never experience a loss or I may have waited. But that being said, we told my family and his family the day we found out with each pregnancy.

I waited until 6 weeks to tell my 2 children (8 ,11) and family the next day or so only because I've had so many early losses. I waited until 8 weeks to announce to friends. I got an ultrasound every 2 weeks to monitor everything until around 12 weeks. With my early losses I'd get several very positive tests, go in get blood work then the ultrasound would show the sac and sometimes a fetal pole, but never baby or heart beat. Come to find out after the 6th loss(1st was ectopic) I was diagnosed with severe hypothyroidism. I started Synthroid and after several long months my blood work finally showed everything in normal range and my Endocrinologist gave me the go ahead to try again. That following month I tested positive and everything has been great. 32 weeks 1 day today 😍 Apparently I developed it after my son bc I had no complications with them. I wouldn't say I waited a long time to tell everyone but I was more hesitant than with the losses.

I told my family right away. Ultimately your choice but I think if he wants to tell his parents you should respect that. It’s your body but a miscarriage would affect him as well and if he wants to share that experience with his family, I personally would do that for my husband. Again totally up to you, just think to yourself if you would prefer to go through it with just you two or if you feel you’ll need support. If you think you’ll want support, consider telling the people that you would want it from

It’s perfectly fine to wait a bit. We announced at 15 weeks. Tell your husband to slow his roll. I understand being excited but there are many reasons people hold off. Maybe compromise and announce only to immediate family after your first doctor appointment? I announced too early twice and having to tell people I lost the babies made it a million times worse.
