First Time AI

My wife and I are planning to do our first off AI on the 5th, 6th, and 7th. We have been together 10 year and married for 4 1/2, and we are ready to start our family at 26 and 25. I have heard so many different opinions on these three questions. Please feel free to give your opinion/advice

1. Do I decrease my chances by not using a using a speculum?

2. Is doing the AI before and after my most fertile day a good Idea?

3. Has anyone used preseed and got a BFP?
