Flying instead of crawling 🤣?

Question

So my son is trying his best to learn how to crawl but instead of army crawling or wiggling, he started with flying. He happily spreads his arms and kicks his legs while lying on his tummy. It is so incredibly cute as he is mega proud of himself and even starts doing it when we ask him if he wants to fly.
Any other babies doing this? Is this a step towards crawling (strenghtening his upper body) or not at all?

Mine will be 7 months soon and he does this too. We call it swimming!! Lol he gets up o. His hands and knees and rocks back and forth but only for a few seconds at a time

he’s army crawling now, just started 2 weeks ago (he’ll be 8month on the 5th)

Mine does this too! And anytime I put her up on her knees to try and show her how she just rolls over.

Haha we used to call this skydiving! Now she’s army crawling! Definitely still great core work and super cute !
