Does the ultrasound determine how many weeks or LMP?

Question

Went to my first ultrasound at 8w1d past my last period on 1/31. The baby measure 6w5d. So do I go by my LMP or the baby measurement as far as calculating how many weeks I am?
First time mommy question. Might be a stupid one. Just new to all of this

They measure the baby, and there is a guidline how many weeks a baby is if they measure some specific measurement.... My first ultrasound doctor measured just for fun (wasn't nessesary), three times and all the time it was 0.1mm here or there and the age ranged from 7+6 to 8+4...😃

Baby’s measurement! I ovulate WAAAY late. I should’ve been almost 9 weeks at my first appointment and baby measured 5w5d. I’m not 11.5 weeks! Our bodies just do what they want!
