Do you believe in an afterlife?

Hopefully this is the right place to post this. So today I went to go visit my grandma in hospice care, she has only days left to life. It had me thinking about the afterlife. My grandma does not follow any religion but to me she had voiced she believes in reincarnation.

I am no longer a religious person (I am a former Christian.) I don't consider myself an atheist, moreso spiritual and I connect a lot with energy and messages. I believe in an afterlife to an extent. I believe in spirits, but I don't believe everyone becomes one after they die. Hopefully that makes sense, because I admit what I believe is pretty confusing even to me.

Do you believe in an afterlife? Whether it be heaven, hell, something else. I'm just curious.

Well, I am a Christian, and I believe in heaven and hell. When we die, our spirits are taken to heaven or hell. Then, when Jesus returns, those of us in Christ (in heaven our still on earth) will receive new bodies and live forever with Him...Luke 16:19-23John 5:24Romans 6Romans 8:111 Corinthians 151 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Yes I do. I believe it's only the body that dies.

I believe In after life like heaven and hell but not right after death tho. I believe in Jesus return and that will determine who goes to heaven and who goes to hell when he does return.

I believe the body dies but the ‘soul’ or ‘spirit’ lives on, maybe reincarnation, never really looked into it, I definitely believe in some sort of afterlife. The body ages but the mind doesn’t, my dad used to tell me that all the time before he died, used to say his body is old but in his mind he’s 18 and wants to do all the things hIs body prevents now. I do believe in ghosts too.

I believe in demonic spirits here on earth, and I believe in the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in those who are children of God here on earth. But, I do not believe in human spirits lingering on earth after death.

Gotcha! I don’t believe in ghosts personally. I don’t believe people’s spirits linger on earth after death. But! That is my personal belief :3.

What happens when someone dies:“His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; on that very day his thoughts perish.”Psalm 146:4“The living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all . . . Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.”Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10“[Jesus] added: ‘Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am traveling there to awaken him.’ Jesus, however, had spoken about his death. But they imagined he was speaking about taking rest in sleep. Then Jesus said to them plainly: ‘Lazarus has died.’”John 11:11, 13, 14

I believe in reincarnation. I’ve thought a lot about this over time and it makes the most sense to me. I lean towards there is a resting period between lives and that at some point we will choose not to be reincarnated and at that time we possibly go to some final resting place.

Yes. You cannot destroy matter or energy and that’s what we’re made up of. So we must continue to exist in some capacity.

No. It’s human nature to want to believe things that bring us comfort from scary concepts. Just like the idea of god/heaven. At the end of the day it’s just not realistic

I’m not quite sure what I believe in. I used to believe ghosts exist without a doubt, and I think reincarnation could be possible too, but after my nan died I went to see her body before her funeral, and it just really felt like there was absolutely nothing there. That was about a year ago. So now I’m not sure if I believe in an afterlife or not, and I’m fine with it either way.
