Have you ever had to do a progesterone challenge?

So I was on nexplanon for eight years.

I was one of those people that never got a period on it. I would get spotting if I was overly stressed or ate like crap.

I would get a period between changing out (timing and scheduling never worked out).

In September I decided I was done with birth control. It was a mixture of reasons.

I’m a heavier set girl, so I gave it about two- three months for my period to finally start.

It never did, no period, no spotting- NOTHING.

Panic set in and I made an appointment with OB/GYN.

We did a pregnancy test, negative. I had been taking home tests, so this didn’t surprise me.

So she had me do a bunch of labs. I told her to light it up and run everything cause I don’t do well around needles and didn’t want to wait 3 days to two weeks for each result.

We did a transvaginal ultrasound also.

My labs were with in normal limits except my testosterone was mildly elevated. My ultrasound didn’t show anything for concern. Endometrium was 12mm, I had a cyst on my right ovary that was half the size of the ovary. They were unable to see my left ovary due to bowel filled with air in the way- rude!

So she decided to put me on a progesterone challenge.

I’m on day 5/10 of taking these pills. The excess of hormones pulsing through my body showed DAY ONE. Cried like a baby over NOTHING.

Every single day I have cried. I am not an emotional person, so it’s overwhelming. I had to send my boss and email being like - ignore me if I burst out crying for no reason 🙄😶😥 thankfully she is supportive and understanding.
