My friend has to collect her dogs semen to breed

So this is gonna be gross. But I’m just trying to make sense of it. My friend breeds bulldogs. English bulldogs. She has for years and is very professional about it. Well I just found out that English bulldogs absolutely cannot breed by having sex. Basically my friend has to whack off the dog and collect his semen in a bag. And you know I don’t know if I’m being harsh but I’m extremely disgusted by this. I just can’t imagine. It’s bizarre to me. I’d never say anything to her but I almost feel like it’s morally wrong? Am I being too harsh? Does anyone else know about this?
