Still swaddling told to stop?

Question

My baby just turned 2 months.  She won't sleep unless she is swaddled. She still has the stake reflex.  I was just told ( not by a dr) that I'm supposed to stop swaddling at 2 months.  She didn't roll yet.  What's the truth here?

You can swaddle until your baby starts to show signs rolling back to front. This usually happens somewhere between 3 and 6 months which is around the time the startle reflex goes away.

You can keep swaddling. Once they start rolling that’s when you stop and depending on the baby that can be 2 months or it can be 6 months. It all depends on when baby starts rolling because at that pojnt it becomes unsafe.

I was told not to swaddle from day one. Where I live they recommend that arms are always out.

When they show signs of rolling from front to back. I think my first baby we stopped around 5 months. She hated being on her stomach though. This baby doesn’t hate it as much thankfully, but her startle reflex is still very strong (as her whole body just jerked while I’m holding her napping 😂). She’s 12wks, 9wks developmentally.

According to the book I’ve been following they recommend trying to wean out of swaddle by 4 months or when baby starts to roll over

I use the halo swaddles. On the sleepers and their website they say that you aren’t suppose to swaddle once the baby can roll over from front to back as it can be a safety issue. My LO is 2 months still swaddle her. :)
