Daughter born at 35 weeks
Our daughter was born on 02/22/2020 at 35 weeks. She’s been in the NICU ever since.
Her breathing has significantly improved and she’s not longer on any breathing help.
However, our biggest issue now is feedings.
They are feeding her through a tube now because her breathing is never calm enough when it’s time to eat. They said it needs to be below a 60, and it always shoots up to 70-80 when she starts stirring and waking up.
Also, she’s not doing hunger cues, and the nurses won’t force baby’s to bottle feed if they don’t cue hunger.
They told us to help her we can give her a pacifier every time she stirs and wakes up.
Did anyone else go through this? She would’ve just been 36 weeks today and the occupational therapist said it could take as long as it would’ve been for her to go full term, so another month. 😔
