Circumcision?

Just curious how many moms are circumcising their boys? I've read a lot of articles lately that say it has no medical benefit and that he number of parents choosing to circumcise is falling drastically..thoughts?!

Like I've posted on a board before about same topic.. 
​My bf works in ER and gets little boys and older men in quite frequently who due to lack of cleanliness or hygiene in that area, the part where you circumcise closes up and gets infected and you have to do emergency circumcision, weekly probably 5 or 6 little boys alone in that boat not to mention the older men who have a hard time caring for that part as well.. He recently got a older teenager with the same thing, it was suffocating his penis area as it was tightening and cutting it off due to infection.. Not as common with middle aged men but it happens.. Anyways to each their own and respect peoples decision to either get circumcision for their son or not.. We will be circumcising of we have a boy though

we will if we have a boy.  the hygiene/cleanliness is important, plus foreskin allows for STDs to be more prevalent.  I see men in their 50's and 60's on the surgical schedule every day getting circumsized for a condition called phimosis, which creates scar tissue causing the foreskin to not be retractable.  this causes pain and recurrent UTIs.

It's a cosmetic surgery. A lot of women will circumcise their boys because the dad is circumcised, but is that really a reason? Babies actually die from complications. I know that it isn't that many babies a year but the way I explained it to my husband was.. If we had a perfectly healthy boy and he died because of a complication from a silly cosmetic surgery how would he feel? He changed this mind right then and there.

We plan on circumcizing our baby boy.  It is easier for cleaning/hygiene purposes and I don't want him to feel the need to get surgery later on in life!

I would circumcise if I had a boy. I know a lot of people are strongly against it, but it is just a personal decision and don't let anyone give you a hard time about it. Clearly it will hurt and that part I don't like, but I promise they don't remember it and I know my boyfriend would want it done because he's happy he was circumcised. Can you imagine going in for that surgery as an adult? Ouch

Sorry but that's a decision my son has to make. It's his manhood not mine so I am going to let him make that choice  when he gets older.
