First Period on Mirena IUD? Helpp

how long did your first period/bleeding last after your iud was inserted? mine started five days after insertion and I'm now on day 8 of my flow and it doesn't seem like it's going away anytime soon.

I am 6 months in now, but after I got my mirena inserted, I bled lightly/spotted for about a month. After that, I will spot maybe a couple days a month. The first month or two is worth it for the 5 years of protection and little to no periods, in my opinion.

i started bleeding a week after insertion and bled for 2 weeks then spotted for about 2 and a half months. after 3 months my period came every 3 months for a few days with light spotting then it came every 6 months and now i haven’t had a period in over a year and i’m going on year 5 with it. it sucks at first but so worth it!

My first period after insertion was 9 days, then I spotted for almost a week after. My first six or seven months I basically had a period every two weeks. It’s annoying but it should slow down after some time, and continue to get lighter. I’ll take long and light periods over pregnancy and childbirth any day.

I started mine the day after insertion and the bleeding lasted 17 days. Now it’s completely stopped.

Ugh Good luck! I had mine removed after 4 months because my period was all messed up and hormones were completely out of control, weight gain...acne. Some people can handle it, others is a horror story
