Tongue piercing question..

Iv had my tongue pierced for about 2 years now and about a week ago I got a permanent bottom retainer and a few days later I woke up to my tongue swollen. The day before I woke up to the swelling I noticed my tongue started hurting but sometimes it does that when I play with it too much so I didn’t think anything of it. The last time my tongue has ever been swollen was when I got it pierced. It’s not terribly swollen but there is swelling and the bottom whole on my tongue hurts. I’m starting to think it’s the bottom retainer not going well with the bar itself but idk what’s going on. There’s a white ring around the hole on the bottom of my tongue (don’t know if that’s normal or not) Iv also taken it out to let my tongue rest for like 6-8 hours and it still hurts and is slightly swollen. Iv also changed the bar, brushed my tongue, I use biotene mouthwash & I’ve gotten no where. This has been going on since Saturday. Any suggestions?

Totally not “love & sex” but I need advice.
