My best friend went in for her first ultrasound and they literally couldn’t see anything she was maybe 6 or 7 weeks they told her that it may not be a viable pregnancy because she was bleeding and spotting red on and off for weeks and then the empty sac....so I told her to just wait it out cuz you hear about women getting ultrasounds and not seeing their baby then a few weeks later the baby is visible and thriving. So a week or so later she goes back...they finally see something and everything is looking great! She’s now 20 weeks with a baby boy and still doing great!
Not sure what to think yet
So I went in for my first ultrasound yesterday. According to my last period I should be around 9 weeks. All they saw was the yolk sac. They recommended I go to radiology for a better ultrasound machine. So we did that today. Gestational sac measures around 7wks 3days and she thinks it looks like there are 2 yolk sacs but no fetal poles or heartbeats. So we don’t know what’s going on. I have to go back in another week. I guess I’m just looking for similar stories where you were just off on the dates and everything turned out ok. Or do I need to prepare for another miscarriage. (I had one back in October of last year)
Update: confirmed today after heavy bleeding and cramping the last few days that we are miscarrying. Ultrasound today only showed one sac but still no heartbeat. So I have passed one and will most likely pass the other as well. Thanks everyone for your comments and thoughts/prayers.

I thought I was 6 weeks 3 days when I went into my ultrasound. The baby was measuring 5 weeks 3 days so they told me to come back after the weekend, four days later. Baby had progressed to 5 weeks 6 days but still no visible heartbeat so they gave me the pills to terminate. Worst decision of my life! Should have waited longer and got a second opinion. I've heard way too many stories about ultrasounds being off

I went for an ultrasound last pregnancy n they said i should be 7 weeks but was only 4 weeks 6 days so of course i was worried n stuff but they scheduled another one for 2 weeks later to see n i was 6 weeks 6 days with a healthy little embryo..sometimes the dates are off the first time u go..im sure ur bay or babies are gonna be just fine

Sorry you went through that too. I’m praying but just not trying to get my hopes too high. I was using ovulation strips and got a positive on a digital pregnancy test on January 15th so I guess I’m just confused how my dates could be off. But only time will tell. Thanks again for sharing your story.

Girrrrrrrl. I already fired my doctor. 😂 Now I have to wait til the 12th to be seen by my new doctor which is an ETERNITY away. 😭

They didn’t draw blood yet. Not sure why. Not a fan of my new doctor. Thinking about switching. I’m gonna call Monday to see if i can go in and get my blood drawn to get my levels checked.
