I’m just curious to see if any of your 18 month olds have developed fears of specific things. My son is afraid of vacuum cleaners whether they are on or just sitting in the closet and vents or anything that resembles a vent whether or not they are on. I met my mom for lunch today and a man started playing piano in the cafe we were eating at. My son for some reason thought the sound was coming from the air vent no matter how many times we showed him the piano player. 😂 He started panicking and crying and we ended up having to take our lunch to go. My mom was all flustered because she didn’t like that people were staring at us since my son was upset, but i told her that’s normal and I didn’t want to continue to sit there forever when I can’t calm my son down in a restaurant. Then she started asking on the drive home why my son was so afraid of things and that she didn’t think it’s normal at this age to be that afraid of things like vents and vacuums. I told her I think it’s normal for them to have some random fears of stuff. Do your little ones fear random objects or things that make louder noises? I’m just curious now since my mom swears my sister and I weren’t afraid of things until we were much older
