Boy troubles!!

I have really liked this guy for around half a year now. we have been mates for years but suddenly feelings have come on, I admitted this the other night and since then he has been very hinty and we have become very close. On the negative side he has let me down and lied a bit recently, so I'm wondering do I keep giving him chances and is there maybe a chance he feels the same?!!
