Making mom friends??

Question

I can't be the only one that finds making mom friends to be such an awkward task.
Yes, I'm pretty socially awkward and the idea of making new friends is terrifying. Like, awkward silences scare me so much, whenever I hang out with someone new, I'm panicking every time it gets quiet, trying to fill awkward silences. To the point that it isn't even fun for me. How the heck do I get passed this?? I would love to have a friend that has a baby my son's age so that they can hang out while we hang out! But it seems impossible when making friends is this hard. 🙃

I feel this! I met a woman at Starbucks who had a kid about my son's age and we talked for awhile and exchanged numbers. I was pretty excited to have met a cool mom. Well after texting a little the next day she ended up trying to get me into her pyramid scheme. I cut off contact and now I'm a little apprehensive to talk to other moms. It's really hard!!

Same hahah, I'll be like totally confident talking then feel my face getting red, then I start focusing on that, then I'm like sweating and tomato red...mortifying. I have to be like, whew it's hot, sorry...then realize it's actually 45 degrees outside. 🤦🤦😅 I've almost given up on this task.

🙋🏻‍♀️ this is me. I get so awkward with people. I did start going to a moms group at my church and that helped a lot because I saw the same moms multiple times and was able to eventually move through my awkwardness 😩 is there like a MOPS or something like that?

I agree! If you haven't already you should check if your local library has any baby groups. Mine has one weekly that I went to and it was nice to talk to other moms. I don't have any advice on making new friends though, I think it's awkward too to meet someone and ask for their number etc.

Yes. I. Literally.  Cant. Stress. Enough. How. Hard. It. Is. 
Haha honestly I hate awkward silences I had that with another women the other day. It literally gives me anxiety to talk to new people because of how awkward it can be depending on the person. But some people you just click with and others you don't. Unfortunately that is a downside of meeting new people. I don't know how old your child is but I have a son who is 5 months old.
