SIDS?

Question

Anyone else have a crippling fear of SIDS? I do everything recommended by the AAP, she sleeps on her back in a bassinet, not too hot, nothing in the bassinet with her, etc... but still it’s all I can think about sometimes 😭 I feel like sometimes I almost don’t get to enjoy her as much because I’m so worried about SIDS. I don’t know how I’m going to last all the way till her first birthday when the risk goes down 😞

Yes I worry, but I remind myself that all worry does is steal my joy. Once you’ve done all you can to prevent it (and it sounds like you have), it’s out of your control and worrying doesn’t help. Try to put the worry in a box and let it go so you can enjoy your baby. All we EVER have is the present moment!

The Owlet sock helped me with this, I am still worried but I can finally sleep at night. It is expensive but worth every penny maybe you could look into it. I used it until my first was 13 months and I’m now using it with my newborn

Sounds like anxiety is getting the best of you. Postpartum anxiety disorder is a very real thing! Just chat with your doc. 😘 You’re not alone.

I noticed a huge difference in my sleep with the Owlet. So happy we got it.

I can relate! My husband bought a Pico Snuza which has calmed my fears a bit knowing an alarm will go off on my phone.

I am also extremely worried. I feel like it’s worse with my second baby then it was with my first :(
