Scared to buy?

I’m 16 weeks, my husband and I want to get started on buying baby equipment, looking at nurseries and strollers.. I can’t get myself to buy anything, I am too scared to lose the baby. 
On top of it all I can’t really seem to find ANYTHING that I truly like in my prince range either. We have two full time incomes so it’s not like we are broke but Jesus. $700 for a single crib and another $600 for a dresser/changing table ?! 
My oldest is 12! I paid about $700 for her complete nursery back then and it wasn’t flimsy like the ones you get for that price range now. 🙈 so much has changed.
Where do you guys shop!??

I 100% feel you, Look on Deltachildren. A nursery furniture set includes a crib, mattress, mattress pad, crib sheets, glider and a dresser for 799.00. I mean it’s still pricey but you get your money worth compared to buying the stuff separate. They have a lot of cute sets.

I’m definitely not breaking the bank on the baby. I’m getting his crib from ikea. It’s solid wood and it’s $75. I’m getting him a changing table dresser that converts into a regular dresser. And a rocking chair that converts into a wingback. So those will last beyond the baby years or can be converted back for our next baby. I also have price alerts set on our entire registry and I pick things up randomly as they go on sale. For example, I got the stroller for half off on Black Friday.

My crib was $250 from target, dresser was $250 from ikea and my chair/ottoman was $600 from buybuy baby but I only paid $320. It was on sale and I had coupons. Our stroller/car seat combo was originally $380 but we only paid $260. Same thing, it went on sale and we had a coupon. We started buying at 20 weeks and had bought everything by 29. 
You still have plenty of time just find things you like and wait around until there’s a sale or a coupon. You can always create a baby registry and get the coupons from that too. Once you find the pieces you like shop around as well to get the best price. Our crib was over $100 more on other sites.

Most of my stuff is second hand. The only thing that I feel has to be brand new is car seats and bottle nipples. Mom to mom sales are great. As for furniture go for long term for the dresser/chest of drawers. I’m just putting a changing pad on top of the dresser. My crib was $100, nothing fancy.

Totally okay to wait on buying stuff. Wait for deals or coupons. I’m already 22 weeks and haven’t bought a single thing for our 2nd.

I purchased a lot of my things second-hand through friends or consignment sales. Facebook is a great place to ask your friends if they’re selling a specific item. I got a really nice crib from someone I know for $100 and they even had a brand-new mattress still in the plastic with it. I wouldn’t use a crib mattress that wasn’t new from a total stranger, though. 
The most expensive thing I bought new was a dresser.
