Would you eat canned food that was 6 months expired?

It kills me to throw full cans of food out of my pantry. I'm curious what other people would do.

No. But I’m also the type that throws something away the day after it expires.

Most dates on canned and packaged foods are best by dates not expiration dates. If the can has no obvious broken seal, hasn't buldged out anywhere, and when you open it it doesnt smell or have obvious discoloration it is probably safe to eat. A lot of canned goods are so full of preservatives they actually take years to go bad.

I probably would. My grandma had a room in her house stuffed to the brim with canned/dried foods from like the 70s or something that she finally just decided to start eating once she figuired she might as well stop wasting her time worrying about some kind of disaster happening at her age. As far as I know, it was fine 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'll eat anything as long as it's not moldy and smells fine. I watching a documentary once about how eggs can last months after their expiration date and you can use them as long as they smell fine.

I wouldnt for the simple fact the expiration date means the can was produced 2-3 years ago. So its a no for me. It was made to last at least 2 years before expiring.
