At What Point is it Okay to Transition from a 5 Point Stroller Harness to a 3 Point Stroller Harness?

I have an 18 month old and this month we'll also be adding a newborn to the mix. I recently purchased a Graco Duoglider double stroller without realizing that it only has a 3 point harness  option (huge design flaw imo)... and we've already gotten rid of the box so I don't think I can return it... obviously the little one will be in the stroller-compatible carseat for a while, but is 18 months old enough for my firstborn to use a stroller with a 3 point harness? And if not, what age would be more appropriate? Thanks!

I think your baby will be perfectly fine with just the three point. I didn’t have mine in a five point at 18 months, but then again I suppose it might depend on the child, if they are likely to get out of the three point and try to climb out?

I guess it depends on your kid. My daughter rarely got buckled from about that age. We had been using a 3-pt from probably a year to maybe just past 18 months. But she doesn't make any effort to get out and we're not going fast enough for me to be worried about it. I'm attentive to what she is doing and if she were to try to get out, I would stop and deal with the situation. 
Now, in the jogging stroller we do the 3-pt harness still (23 months now) since if she wanted to try anything while going faster, I might not be able to get to her on time.
Now if your kid is constantly trying to escape the stroller, a 5pt may be the only way to go. But for us, 3pt was more than enough by that age.
