Our fertility journey begins

16 months in to our journey & today my GP finally agreed to refer me on to gynaecology/infertility assessment....happy probably isn’t the right choice of words but feel like I’m finally being taken seriously.

Back story (based in 🇬🇧) around 7 years ago I had 1st review by gynaecologist for possible endometriosis. At that point there was no obvious cysts or abnormality on TV scan so it was suggested, as I was not looking to TTC, to manage symptoms by hormonal means & avoid laparoscopy as wouldnt change management.

September 2018 after getting married had my nexplanon removed to start TTC.

Feb 2019 had BFP but turned out to be ectopic tubal pregnancy which i elected to manage with methotrexate as no evidence of rupture.

Since then hubby & I have tried all the suggestions to conceive naturally....prenatal vitamins, lost a few lbs (to take me to the “healthy” bmi category) used pre-seed, used ovulation sticks & BD accordingly - no success.

Dec 19 went back to GP who did some initial bloods thyroid checks, vitamins/iron levels/progesterone checks....all within normal parameters. Told “not to stress” about it and keep “visualising that baby”

March 20 still no BFP but GP has finally agreed to refer for assessment - current waiting time in Scotland is 18-24 months for 1st appointment (so “free” treatment in UK doesn’t come without its downfalls) but counting today like a small win that the process has now began ☺️
