Did you dye your hair while pregnant?

I’m 26 weeks along and am debating on whether I can get my hair lightened more, I’m going blonde and already have a lot of highlights but my roots are so overgrown now it looks like a bad ombré.

Many women not only get their hair colored while pregnant, but work in hair salons dying other people’s hair throughout their entire pregnancy.

It’s perfectly ok to dye your hair well pregnant. Just make sure you’re in a well ventilated area 🙂

As a hair stylists, I still always tell my pregnant clients to check with their doctors, but I also know hair color products have come a long way, I’m currently 19 weeks myself and have bleached and colored my hair with professional products! I prefer not to put lightener on the scalp for me and my preggy clients, but that’s just a personal rule of thumb I use for most clients anyway! If you were to get some highlights in foil all over to lighten your hair and fix them roots you will be fine!

As a cosmetologist I can say that coloring or lightening your hair does NOT harm the baby. The reason we ask if you’re pregnant is because your hormones potentially can effect the outcome of the coloring process!

I’ve heard you can when you are in the second trimester. I’m blonde too, and I am only 5 weeks. So I will have to wait until May for a touch up 😭

I asked my hair stylist at first knowing I was pregnant.. she reassured me there will be no harm come to the baby.. especially with the organic dyes that they use.
