Cloth and Family: What to do with disposables you will inevitably be gifted?

Ju

So I plan on cloth diapering my son when he is born. Mostly for environmental reasons. I wouldn't say I am good at being environmentally friendly but I try and this is my first baby so I figured I don't know better either way so let's do the planet friendly thing. 🤷

Husband is very supportive. His side of the family cloth diapered so they are on board.

My side are supportive but they didn't use cloth so they don't know what it's about. I'm registered for a bunch of cloth diapers and supplies but I am willing to bet my extended family is going to give me disposables just because that's what they know. And I'm trying to decide what to do with them.

I'm worried if I take them home and use them, I'll find them easier and give up on cloth. Like I'm not NO DISPOSABLES ON MY BABY EVER. I'm doing it to cut down our waste. So I could see myself wavering pretty quickly if it's easier and I don't want the temptation.

Should I leave them at my parents and they can use them when the baby is over? Should I donate them to a shelter? Should I stop being silly and just use what is given to me?

Asking people not to give them to me won't work, trust me. My aunts will not be able to resist diaper cakes. 🤦 And I don't want to come off as ungrateful.
