Things to add to registry?

I’m a ftm and trying to set up my amazon registry. I have a few questions for you seasoned mamas.
1. What are essentials that you had with your first that you would suggest adding to your registry? Any brand suggestions? 
2. Should I register at multiple places?
3. How pregnant where you when you had your baby shower?
4. Who did you share your registry with? People who came to your baby shower? Any one else? I’m not really sure what etiquette is with baby registries (it’s so clear with wedding registries lol). Plus we live out of state from friends and family so they likely won’t come to our shower anyway (I think I’m having a split one with a coworker who is 6 weeks behind me).

A few things that I LOVE: Dekor diaper pail. The diaper genie is overrated IMO. I had two of them break, but the Dekor is awesome. Also, a Hatch Baby sound machine/nightlight machine. I have used it with my daughter since she was about six months old (she’s now 3) and it definitely helps her sleep! I’m planning on using my daughter’s Dekor Paul with my new baby and getting him his own Hatch.

Baby shower about 32 weeks. The only family that wanted a registry where out of state, no one else used it. I actually typed out a list and sent it in the invites. 
Get all the baby meds. We were always scrambling to get those. Gripe water (day and night), gas stuff, Tylenol (have to talk to the pedi before use), cold meds, Saline spray (for stuffy nose). Ex..
I always recommend a diaper caddy. You load that sucker up with everything you always need for baby (diapers, wipes, creams) and you can just take it room to room with you so it’s always organized and on hand. 
Scented stuff is great but have unscented everything also just in case your baby’s skin is to sensitive (my sons was and we couldn’t use anything we had). 
My opinion- huggies diapers are the best, never bugged my sons skin and never leaked. Kirkland (Costco brand) wipes are amazing, wipe great and no skin irritation. 
Don’t buy the baby laundry stuff, just get the free and clear detergent. 
Muslin swaddles are seriously
The best. 
Long spit up rags are a must or they are pointless.

I had multiple registries with my 1st and this pregnancy. I'm registered with amazon, target, and walmart. This time around I used babylist, which links all of your registries in one place to make it easier to share and buy from. 
I would say definitely add things like mylicon(gas drops), gripe water, infant tylenol and motrin. I was grateful that I got those for my baby shower because I didnt even think to register for them or buy them and then ended up needing them and luckily had them. 
If you're planning on nursing, a hakka is something I haven't used but wish i would've had with my first and plan on getting this time around. Nipple cream (I like the mothers love brand) and nursing pads (I preferred the .medela ones)as well as a nursing pillow. I also loved muslin swaddles for pretty much everything and used the receiving blankets I got as burp cloths because they were too small for swaddling but were useful for burping and spit up. 
Diapers and wipes are obviously essential. I recommend registering for no more than 2 boxes of newborn and then do at least 2 boxes of size 1 and 2. As far as wipes, register for as many boxes  as you want lol my son is almost 3 (potty trained) but we still use wipes all the time. I preferred pampers for diapers and huggies naturals for wipes, but every baby will be different. 
A pack n play is another essential, I think. I got one that has a bassinet function and its where my son slept in our room for the first five months. we still use it for when we travel and stay with family. I would register for little toys and teethers as well, one of my faves was the nuby gel keys that you can put in the fridge or freezer.
