Would it be a bad idea?

So my baby is 3 weeks old & I breastfeed & bottle feed(breast milk). I went from making 4oz w both to 2 oz.  I’m exhausted & once I start to pump it feels like nothing wants to come out anymore.  Almost to the point where I can only make a few bottles a day. Would it be wrong to switching her to formula Today & feeding her at least a bottle of breast milk a day while I freeze whatever else I have?

I’m a NICU mama- everyone pushes you to latch and latch only. My son wasn’t allowed to latch until he left and everyone swore I wouldn’t be able to make him latch on anymore. He latched on until he was 6M because I got pregnant again. 
With my daughter I was drained- at the hospital I told them to go ahead and give her bottle (she had already latched on 3 times) and they told me no because I’d have a hard time after and I asked again nicely and they got it for me 🙄 she was almost a full yeah with breast milk. I just cut her off once the teeth came in😬. 
It’s fine to do however you feel best if you are just done with it for today and feel like giving her one bottle will keep you sane DO it. Do not make breast feeding your baby a total pain in your butt. The more you stress the more your supply will go down. Relax you got this mama! You’re 3 weeks in- give your self a break if you feel like you need it. Keep up the good work you’re doing. Bottle or breast both are best as long as baby is fed☺️ Also try “Legendairy milk” helps your milk supply BIG time (look up on FB/IG/online)

My baby is also 3 weeks old and I just switched him to formula last night because my milk started to decrease. I think I just got lazy and didn’t pump very often and whenever I NEEDED to pump barely anything would come out. Just having him on formula till I can stock up enough breast milk for him. I’m pumping every 3 hours now and it’s increasing little by little each time.

It's not recommended to pump during the first six weeks. You want baby to be on your breasts to really stimulate milk production, even when they are constantly cluster feeding. It sucks, but that's what IBCLCs recommend. But also, the average output for a pumping session is 2-4oz from both breasts combined. So you are on the right track even though there was a drop. The best way to up your supply is by bringing baby back to the breast every 2-3 hours and then one 5 hour stretch at night if they do sleep that long. I follow a really amazing IBCLC on her facebook group called The Cleavage Club. She is super informative and helpful if you are wanting to stay with breastfeeding. If not that's okay too!

If you are nursing it’s not uncommon to not be able to pump very much. I used to pump in the morning while my baby would sleep and could get quite a bit then. But if I nursed I would usually only get a few ounces during the day. It’s so hard to pump after nursing even a few hours after. If you keep doing that though your supply should increase. I also used brewers yeast which really helped. However if you feel formula would work better for you, then definitely try it!

It is completely up to you. There isn’t a right or wrong answer. Just be sure to express often to keep up your supply if you’re wanting to continue.
